Highlights
We had a special guest (Jennifer) from the
Clay for Kids organization, who worked with us this afternoon to make arctic
animals. She will bake the clay animals
in her kiln and return them in about 3 weeks.
Students were given some of their previous math
and science work to bring home today.
Please remove this from the folders, as it is yours to keep.

Valentine’s Day
For the past two years, we
have allowed time in the classroom at the end of the day for students to hand
out Valentine Cards and/or Kindness Cards and Messages to their
classmates. If you are planning to do
this as a family, and this is absolutely voluntary, please write a card
for every student in the class. Homemade cards are always special, remembering
that the virtue of Kindness, Caring, Friendship and Compassion should be the
focus of the message.
As stated in our Parent
Handbook on page 5:
“Parents please DO NOT SEND
any cakes, cupcakes, or other treats to school. We have too many children with severe
allergies not only to peanuts but to wheat and dye based products. As a staff
we will ensure your child will not receive ‘treats’ or be passed on any treats
brought in by parents to your children. THIS INCLUDES: the distribution of all
‘treats’ parents wish to distribute on birthdays or for any holidays.
Here is a list of names
of students in our class if you choose to send Valentine cards or notes.
