Highlights
In Social Studies we are looking at maps and developing an understanding of where we live in the world.  In Math, we worked on putting objects into groups of 10 to help us count faster.  We also talked about how good readers understand what they read.  We will be practicing “”Reading Power” strategies to help us understand text.

Tomorrow we will be going for our library orientation.  Our school library is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Once students are finished reading their library books they may get new books any of these days.  Please note that library books must be returned and transported in the plastic Ziplock bags provided.  This helps prevent the books from becoming damaged from items such as leaking water bottles.

Our school is doing an apple and pumpkin fundraiser.  Please see the purple information sheet sent home today.

Highlights
We read about Terry Fox and watched a couple of short videos in preparation for the Terry Fox run next week.  We have also been working on identifying rhyming words.  In Science, we made predictions and tested objects to see which ones would be attracted by a magnet.  We learned that magnets attract objects made out of iron, nickel, steel or cobalt.

Due to Meet the Teacher conferences, there is no school for students Friday.
