Highlights

We are looking forward to our Trickster Residency, which begins next week!  Please email your child’s teacher if they will NOT be attending the evening performance next Friday.  This will help us plan for different parts in the show.

We have been experimenting how we can make different boats more stable.  We have discovered that making a large base and balancing the load on the boat can help.

We read a non-fiction book called “The Life of a Butterfly.”

Highlights

Thank you to our volunteers who came with us to the Bird Sanctuary yesterday.  I also appreciate that all of our students were dressed and prepared for the weather!  We had a great day, despite the rain!  We learned about birds, insects, aracnids and crustaceans.  We were able to closely examine a variety of small creatures that live in water.  The leech was very popular with many of the students!  During our hike, we were lucky to see a deer up close.  We also saw goslings, hawks, birds and evidence of beavers.

We hope to see you at our Multi-Cultural Night this evening!  We invite you to wear any cultural clothing or red and white for Canada.

Highlights

This morning we practiced the Reading Power strategy of Inferring.  We looked at a picture with a cat and a dog and used clues from the picture to infer what was happening and how the two animals were feeling.  In Science, we tested our Lego boats to see if they would float.

Tomorrow is our field trip!  It is supposed to be rainy all day long.  We will be outside for a large portion of the day, so dress for the weather!

Please bring:
-Rain boots, raincoat, hat, umbrella, and an extra pair of dry socks
-Make sure that you can walk in your boots or shoes for an extended period of time (no sandals or flip flops)
-Dress in layers
-Water bottle
-A healthy lunch and an extra snack

The bus leaves will leave first thing in the morning, so make sure you are not late!
