Highlights
On Tuesday Constable Kovacs came to visit our class as part of the Start Smart, Stay Safe program.  He talked to us about his job and strategies we can use to help us calm down if we are upset.  In Math, we started 2-digit addition with regrouping.  We will continue to work on this strategy after the break.  We also learned that some of the words in our national anthem have changed.

Highlights
This morning Mrs. Zaharichuk came to help us with our new computer passwords and we started learning a little about Google Slides.  During Language Arts, we are working on the comprehension strategy of inferring.  Sometimes authors do not tell us something directly.  Good readers use clues from pictures and text to help them infer.  We practiced inferring how different people might be feeling by looking at their facial expressions and by using clues in the pictures.  Tomorrow we have a special visit from Constable Kovacs.  He will be coming to talk to our class as part of the “Start Smart, Stay Safe” school program.

Highlights
Today we started reading the novel, “Cam Jansen and the First Day of School Mystery.”  We are working on our “About Me” pages for our creative journals.  Students had to write words, which describe them.  Tomorrow we will be typing these words on the computer and learning how to change the size and font.  In Science, we watched a video about a hot air balloon and a blubber suit!  This ties in with our unit on Hot and Cold.
