Highlights
In Social Studies we are looking at maps and developing an understanding of where we live in the world.  In Math, we worked on putting objects into groups of 10 to help us count faster.  We also talked about how good readers understand what they read.  We will be practicing “”Reading Power” strategies to help us understand text.

Tomorrow we will be going for our library orientation.  Our school library is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Once students are finished reading their library books they may get new books any of these days.  Please note that library books must be returned and transported in the plastic Ziplock bags provided.  This helps prevent the books from becoming damaged from items such as leaking water bottles.

Important Information
Our school is doing an apple and pumpkin fundraiser.  Please see the purple information sheet sent home today.

This year we are once again proudly supporting The Terry Fox Foundation in its ongoing work to fund innovative and progressive cancer research programs. Our Terry Fox Run will be on September 28 at 2:00pm. Parents are welcome to join us at the school for the run.  You can make a donation easily online at http://www.terryfox.ca/PanoramaHills.  We have set a school goal to raise $2000.00.  Thanks for your support!

You may send personal headphones for your child to use.  Please label the headphones with your child’s name and put them in a Ziplock or plastic bag.

Important Dates
Thursday, Sept. 28- Terry Fox run at 2 pm; School Council Meeting at 7pm (all parents welcome)

Homework
-Home reading starts today!  After students read a book please have them write the date and title of the book on the home reading page.  Parents, please sign that your child has completed their reading.  A paper book was sent home with each student today; however, if students have a “just right” book at home, they are welcome to read that instead.

Ask me about:
What country do you live in?  What province do you live in?  What city do you live in?  What community do you live in?
