Today was our final day with author Cathy
Beveridge.
In Math, we talked about expanded
notation. 57= 50+7, 14=10+4
One strategy when adding numbers is to use
expanded notation:
42+16=?
40+2+10+6
50+8=48
We were also given some very tricky math
problems to try to solve. Please see the
following link for a more detailed description:
In Science, it was finally warm enough for us
to go outside and measure the air temperature and the temperature of snow using
thermometers.
In Art, we used sponges to paint a background
page in our Creative Journals.
Today we read and played a Math game with our
grade 4 buddies.
We finished the book Arctic Tale. We also read the Berenstain Bears and Too Much
TV and had a discussion about technology.

There is no
school on Friday, March 1.
Homework
Home reading- Parents please sign the reading
log each night. Students may read a just right book from home, their
library book, the school take home books, or use Raz-Kids.
