Highlights
We completed our story organizers with author,
Cathy Beveridge and started to write the beginning of our stories on
Wednesday. Ms. Beveridge will continue
to work with us on Wed, Feb. 20 and Friday, Feb. 22.
In Math, we continued to practice adding
2-digit numbers using 10 sticks and ones.
When adding numbers such as 37+21, it is important for students to
recognize that they are adding 3 tens sticks (30) and 2 ten sticks (20) when
working in the tens place. We also
looked at the pattern of adding 10s to different numbers when using a 100
chart.
We continued reading the novel Arctic Tale, which
focuses on the lives of a walrus and a polar bear.
