Highlights/Important Information
-Today we had an assembly about “socks for the Alex” and our December Read-A-Thon fundraiser.  Please refer to the Read-A-Thon information package which was sent home.
-In Math, we are learning strategies for addition doubles up to 10+10 (e.g., 1+1, 2+2, 3+3).  We also played addition games with our grade 4 buddies today.
-In Language Arts, we are learning about different features of non-fiction books.  So far, we have completed pages in our Creative Journals about captions and labels.

Raz-Kids
The online reading program, Raz-Kids (www.kidsa-z.com) is now available for students to use.  Today we were shown how to access this program and an information sheet has been sent home for parents.  Students may use this program, or they may continue to read the paper books from the school, or their own books at home.

Scholastic
For a winter break gift, I have given each student a coupon for a free Scholastic book up to $6.  Students may fill out the name of their chosen book and the item number on the coupon and return it to me, or parents can enter the coupon code online.  Please note that the coupons cannot be applied to items greater than $6.  If your child wishes to save their coupon, they can claim it during future monthly book orders until June 2019.
