Highlights
-Our new Assistant
Principal, Mr. Southworth, came and read a story to our class today.
-We have been working hard
on writing our gingerbread stories and including details and description.
-On Halloween, we estimated
the number of seeds in a pumpkin. Then
we placed the seeds in groups of 10 to help us count. We were surprised that there were 434 seeds
in our pumpkin!
-Today we started learning
about ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.)
-We finished the Magic
Tree House book, “Afternoon on the Amazon”
-Next week we will begin
our cardboard challenge, which is related to our Social Studies unit about
communities.

Inline Skating
Our class has inline
skating in the afternoon on:
Monday, Nov. 5
Thursday, Nov. 8
Monday, Nov. 12
Students are encouraged
to bring their own helmet if they have one.
Pictures
Pictures proofs went home this week. The deadline to order pictures is Nov.
7.
If students were absent, or need picture retakes, this will
occur on Nov. 12.
Volunteers wanted
Our class has a Scientist in School presentation on Nov. 14
from 8-11am. We are looking for 3 parent
volunteers who have current police clearances.
A “Sign-up” genius email will be sent out this weekend to parents who
filled out the form at meet the teacher.

Homework
-Take a couple of
handfuls of small objects (e.g., Lego, Cheerios). Estimate how many you have. Count the number of objects and compare it to
your estimate.
-Please read and sign the
