Highlights
-Thank-you for attending our winter concert.  Students should be proud of all of their hard work!

-In Math, we worked with tangrams.  We used a set amount of shapes (2 large triangles, 1 medium triangle, 2 small triangles, 1 square and 1 parallelogram) to create different pictures.  Tangrams develop problem solving skills and spatial awareness.

-In Science, we collected data from our class and Mrs. Snow’s class to make a graph.

-We finished the novel, Vacation Under the Volcano.

-Today we read with our grade 4 buddies for 30 minutes.  Students may record 30 minutes on their Read-A-Thon sheets for today.

Have a safe and enjoyable winter break!

Important Dates
School starts again on Tuesday, January 8th.

Homework
-For the month of December, please complete the Read-A-Thon tracking sheet for home reading.  Don’t forget that reading to your child also counts as minutes on the sheet and is very beneficial for reading development.  Students who return their Read-A-Thon tracking sheets in January get a treat from Cobbs bakery.

Ask me about:
Could you make a square out of all the tangram pieces?
What was our graph about in Science?  Was our graph the same as the graph from Mrs. Snow’s class?  Why?
What was the magic show about on Thursday?
