Highlights
On Tuesday, Mrs. Gibson came and worked with us on buddy reading.  We are learning to help our buddies use strategies to figure out words.  In Language Arts we learned about captions and labels, which are often features found in non-fiction text.  During gym, we learned how to do safety landings and how to fall properly so we don’t get hurt.  Tomorrow we will watch the Grade 3 students perform Ukrainian dancing!

Important Information
Tomorrow morning we will be going snowshoeing in the field!  Please make sure your child brings winter boots, snow pants, mittens/gloves, hat, etc.  An extra pair of dry socks may also be handy.  The school has snowshoes for each student.

Important Dates
Thurs, Jan. 25- Report cards go home; Kindergarten, Grade 1&2 Movie night

Homework
-New reading logs were given to students.  Ms. Bain will be checking these each day to see who is reading at home….
-Continue to review spelling words (if you need a new spelling list, just let me know).  Students will be quizzed on their words at the end of January.
-Students can go to www.coolmath.com to practice addition and subtraction

Ask me about:
-Our Science experiment.  Which towel dried faster?
What is a caption?  (Captions tell us more about a picture)
What is a label?

Can you show me a safety landing?
