Highlights
We talked about how
good readers have busy brains and are always wondering, or asking questions
while they read. We read the story “The
Wump World” by Bill Peet and students recorded their questions before, during
and after reading. This book also tied
in nicely with Earth Day on April 22.
In Math, we
continued to work on strategies to add and subtract 2-digit numbers.
It looks like it may rain/snow over the next couple of days. Please dress your child accordingly.

Important Information
Invitations were sent home for our Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on May
16th. If you are able to attend, please
fill out the bottom part of the invitation and return it to the school so we
can plan for the appropriate number of people.
Multi-Cultural Night
Our annual multicultural evening will
be held on May 25th from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. . Our theme this year
is Canada 150. This year, we are celebrating the 150th birthday
of our country and its many diverse cultures. We are still looking for student
presenters to share their culture with our school community. Examples could
include a dance or song performance. We are also looking for parent volunteers
to help with the evening running smoothly. If your child is interested in doing
a presentation or if you are interested in volunteering, please contact the
multicultural evening committee at the following e-mail:phschoolcouncil@gmail.com Thank you very much for your support!
