Highlights
We have 23 new members sharing our classroom!  Our new classmates love to eat and eat and eat!  They also crawl around and we have been watching them closely and writing our observations.  Stay tuned for more information!  Last week, students were introduced to BBC Dance Mat Typing, which teaches proper finger positioning on the keyboard.  Students may also want to practice this at home.

*All student library books must be returned June 8.

Sports Day
Our annual Sports Day on Tuesday, June 26th is quickly approaching! Our Comprehensive School Health Committee has been working hard to put together fun filled events for students to enjoy. Every year, we have multiple stations set up that students rotate through ie. relay races, team building activities, organized sports, and much more! We are asking for volunteers to help run stations on June 26th. If you are available, please email your child’s classroom teacher. All volunteers must have current security clearance. We are looking forward to another successful Sports Day!

Please see the school website for the June calendar.

Poster Project
As part of our Language Arts program, students will be asked to design a poster and then present it to the class.  Students may choose any topic they want for their poster (e.g., sport, food, hobby, club, a family trip, an animal, themself, etc.).

Students will receive a blank poster when it is their turn.  They may include photographs, draw pictures, cut pictures out of magazines, or use writing to tell about their topic.  Once students are finished they may bring their poster back to school (typically I ask that posters be completed in about a week).  Students will then talk about their poster in front of the class.  If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at lcb,ain@cbe.ab.ca .

Ask me about…
Who, or what, are the new members in our classroom? (Caterpillars which will turn into Painted Lady Butterflies)
