Highlights
In Math we are looking at the relationship between addition
and subtraction. For example, if you
know 5+9=14, then 14-9=5. In Social
Studies we watched a video about a spring festival in Iqaluit called Toonik
Tyme to help students gain knowledge and appreciation of different cultures and
traditions. Ms. Van Thiel also came to
our class today to help us edit our writing for capital letters, punctuation
and spelling.

Homework
-Record any minutes read on your Read-a-thon sheet
-Continue to review spelling words
-Practice your math doubles (e.g., 1+1, 2+2, 3+3, etc.),
ten friends (e.g., 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, etc.), doubles plus or minus one strategy (if
8+8=16, then 8+7=15 because it is one less)
Ask me about:
Did your stuffy follow the rules of the school today?
What 3 numbers would make a fact family? (e.g., 4,5 and 9 because 4+5=9, 5+4=9, 9-4=5,
9-5=4)
