Highlights
This morning the band from Captain Nichola Goddard School came and performed for us.  They did an amazing job!  This Thursday we will have a “Water for Life” presentation in the afternoon as part of our Science unit on liquids.  Tomorrow is DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) day.  At random times during the day an announcement will tell everyone in the school to stop what they are doing and read for a certain amount of time.  This time can be counted on the reading tracking sheets.

Important Information
As part of our virtue of Generosity, we are putting together socks for people in need.  You can bring a sock stuffed with items or bring any of the following items which will then be put into socks: small hairbrush or comb, dental floss, fingernail clippers, tweezers, sunscreen, bus passes, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, deodorant, hand cream, travel size shampoo and conditioner, hand sanitizer, bandaids, hand warmers (hot pockets), etc.

Important Dates
Tues, Dec. 12- Drop Everything and Read Day (Read-a-thon)
Monday, Dec. 18- Last day to bring stuffed socks for the Alex
Wed, Dec. 20- Winter concerts-see Mrs. Zaharichuk’s blog for additional info.

Homework
-Record any minutes read on your Read-a-thon sheet
-Continue to review spelling words
-Practice your math doubles (e.g., 1+1, 2+2, 3+3, etc.), ten friends (e.g., 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, etc.), doubles plus or minus one strategy (if 8+8=16, then 8+7=15 because it is one less)

Ask me about:
Do you think you would like to play an instrument in the band when you are older?
